I have recently purchased Hamelin's recording of the Chopin-Godowsky Etudes (Hyperion Label) and I'm very pleased. Excellent in both the quality of recording and the dexterity of the artist. You need to know the original Chopin Etudes very well to fully appreciate these further
'studies'. Having only recently encountered Godowsky's piano works these recordings have fuelled a greater interest in his work. I am now keen to obtain copies of his music.
