Now that the general discussion on different recordings seems to have come into the open - are there any MP3´s out there that the artists might contribute to the ongoing argument about Madge vs. Hamelin, Grante etc. ?? As for the tempi of Madge´s interpretation - there have been many attempts at playing "slowly", notably Arrau and (more recently) a lady publishing "slow" Beethoven (appassionata). This may or may not be justified, but even MM notations can be inaccurate. The fact remains that - regardless of any Dante mishaps - these CD´s represent one of the early attempts at reviving the music itself, which is a respectable endeavour in itself. Kind regards
